Nine Inch Nails' Meet Your Master falters through the PA system, gradually building up. The fans are already showing their disgust at the prospect of being abused by the arrogant competitor before Rose even steps through the curtain. When he steps out as the lyrics kick, their depreciation is only further fuelled, and Rose is loving every second of it.
Pain: And there’s the man himself. The single greatest television champion in XWA history. Lookin’ to pick up another hard fought win tonight! Rose begins his ascent down the ramp keeping a look out for an ambush. Rose suddenly speeds up and heads to the side, to the guard rail. He shouts in the face of a fan, who yells back, causing Rose to laugh tauntingly, and daring the fan to jump the rail and come and get himself a piece of him. Rose makes a "screw you" gesture with his arms, before continuing down the ramp. He reaches the ring and Rose skips up the steps climbing through the ropes. Rose hops up onto the middle ropes of the turnbuckle. He slowly raises his arms and holds them high above his head. The fans boo with all of their hearts as Rose shouts along with the lyrics, "It's time to meet your master." He laughs again before jumping down and starting a last minute warmup. The lights fade out and 'I'd Start A Revolution' sounds throughout the arena. As the first verse starts, the lights become gold colored and Diamond Jack Sabbath emerges from the curtain followed by Amy Taylor. Once he is on the stage, he stares down towards the ring then slowly begins to walk down the ramp as fire and flames rise from either side of him, singing along to his theme song. The announcer says 'Making his way to the ring, From Salford, Manchester, The leader of the Legion...The Crown Jewel; DIAMOND JACK SABBATH!'
He stops right in front of the ring and gives his opponent an intimidating glare. He walks up the steps, gets in the ring and runs over to the turnbuckle and jumps on it and extends his arms leaving his palms open and then proceeds to beating his chest. He jumps off the turnbuckle and throws the jacket over to Amy at the side of the ring. He puts his towel on the side of the ring and turns directly towards his oppenent. He's ready for a war. Sanction: And there’s the former champ. He looks in good shape, considering all that’s happened to him. Looks like a man ready to take his title back. Thames: The following contest is set for one fall, and is for the XTREME WRESTLING ALLIANCE TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP! Introducing first, the challenger, from Manchester England, weighing in at two hundred, forty six pounds…he is the leader of Legion, DIAMOND JACK SABBATH! Jack raises one arm in quiet acknowledgement of the largely negative reaction he receives. Thames: And his opponent…from Caerphilly, Wales…weighing in at two hundred, twenty eight pounds…he is the XWA Television Champion…….ROSE! Sanction: These two are amongst the cleverest competitors we have in XWA. You know they’ll have done their homework. Pain: Oh, absolutely. With so much on the line, they’ll have kept a very close eye on each other over the last few weeks. Ding! Ding! Ding! And the caution and feeling out we were all expecting doesn’t quite happen. And it’s not the comparatively inexperienced Sabbath who breaks his gameplan, it’s Rose. In a clear attempt to throw Sabbath, Rose charges from the out, completely out of character. He dives for Sabbath’s legs. Sanction: This isn’t like Rose… Pain: And that’s exactly why it’s gonna pay off. Rose leaps forward, looking for…something, which we’ll never know, because Sabbath has his number on this one. As Rose dives, Sabbath smartly moves out of the way, leaving Rose to fall to the mat, his experience allowing him to actually land quite lightly. He pushes himself up on his arms, looking to spring back up and rally quickly, but he’s cut off. Rose is hit hard in the back of the head by Jack’s leaping high in the air and hitting a hard leg drop. Rose’s face is smashed brutally into the canvas. Sanction: Yeah, that paid off… Pain: This is weird already. When was the last time you saw Rose make a mistake like that? Jack rolls off Rose and gets on to his feet, leaving the Television champion to writhe in pain. Rose’s hands go right for his face, checking for any bleeding or damage to his nose. Sanction: He should be more concerned with his opponent than his face… Pain: To be fair, Sanction, he does have one hell of a face. Oh, but Sanction’s right. Well, Pain is, too, but that’s by the by at the moment. Just as soon as Rose begins to think about getting up again, he’s cut off AGAIN by another leg drop, again smashing his face to the mat, and again catching John Pain by surprise. Pain: The hell!? Sanction: I’m not sure I’d believe it if I wasn’t seeing it but Rose is being completely…it’s been what? A minute? Rose has already made three big mistakes and he’s being completely outgunned by the former champ here. No waiting around for Sabbath this time, though, as he goes straight on the offensive, pulling Rose up by the head and levelling a knee straight into his gut. Rose doubles over painfully, not sure whether to be holding his stomach or his face, but he doesn’t get to decide on either. As he begins to straighten up he is grabbed round the throat. Pain: Rose, man…what are you doing? Sanction: He’s making a hash out of it, that’s what. Rose is sent flying across the ring with a two handed choke toss. He hits the mat and slides a little from the momentum, which carries him down near to the turnbuckle. Rose, learning now, gets straight to his feet, using the ropes to support himself. He still doesn’t go on the offensive, likely trying to get his breath back and get through the pain, as well as try and get his head in the game properly. Sanction: Sabbath is dominating already. I don’t think any of us saw this coming… Pain: Hey, Sabbath’s no slouch, but Rose…he’s Rose! Rose turns around into Sabbath, probably wondering why this guy seems to have his number tonight. Sabbath, for his part, seems entirely unconcerned. Of course he is! The man’s plan is working out better than he could have hoped, and he’s already well on his way to what would be a big upset victory. He stands, looking at Rose with annoying confidence, not making any moves. Exactly the sort of game plan Rose would stick to in normal circumstances. But these aren’t normal circumstances. Rose has come in the big favourite and is being taken to school. What can he do? Nothing, except try and regain the upper hand. And that’s not just going to fall into his lap anytime soon. Sanction: Jack is looking awfully pleased with himself. Pain: Why shouldn’t he? He’s on top, and he’s doing it on his own. Not a single Legion member out here. He’s good at what he does. I just wasn’t expecting him to be this good. Going for broke, Rose once again comes charging out of the corner, this time jumping high at Sabbath, looking for a diving clothesline. And it seems to work. He definitely connects, but neither of the two fall. Sabbath manages to catch Rose, and, though the blow from the impact obviously shakes him, he manages to keep balanced, carrying Rose in a one arm bearhug. Pain: Uh-oh. Sanction: Another mistake by Rose, and I can see this one really taking its toll. Oho, boy, it does. Sanction: Black Hole Slam! The ring shakes with the force of Jack slamming Rose brutally to the mat. The crowd pop, more out of surprise than support, just from the shock of seeing Rose be taken down so quickly. Jack goes for his first cover. ONE! TWO! KICK OUT! Rose shoots the shoulder up. Jack, again, seems unconcerned, clearly not having expected to put Rose away so early. He steps up to his feet and gets straight to work, clearly having everything in hand down to the last detail. He moves to stand by Rose’s head, possibly looking to pull him up by the head again, but this time, Rose throws his arms around Jack’s leg, in almost pitiful, childish resistance. Sanction: What’s he doing now? Grabbing legs? Where the hell is Rose’s head? Pain: Don’t worry. Shaky start, sure. But now, look. He’s looking to cinch in that leg for an amateur takedown, and then he’ll lock in some impressive submission… Is this his plan? Probably not. Even if it was it wouldn’t matter. Jack laughs off this little show, and promptly takes his other foot and uses it to kick out hard at Rose’s face, before grinding his boot right in. Pain: His face! His face is hurting, for sure, but that won’t be all if Jack has his way. And from what’s already happened, that looks very likely. He eventually stops grinding his foot into Rose’s face long enough to grab his arm and pull him roughly up by it. Rose makes a vague attempt to stop him, but to no avail. He even tries to hit a few, quite hard looking, punches on his opponent, but for whatever damn reason, luck’s just not on his side tonight, and his frustration fuels his sloppiness. Jack is friggin’ loving it. He pulls Rose in between his legs, and signals to the crowd. Pain: Naw, this is never gonna work. Rose is not done, not in a million years. Sanction: It looks…it almost looks like Rose has given up, John… Jack pulls Rose up, making him roll upwards so that his legs are over Jack’s shoulders, in a way that non-wrestling fans would find sewww gayyyy. Pain: Watch now. Hurricanrana, DDT, switch to Lou Thesz press…he’ll pull something out. Sanction: You were saying? And up he goes again! Rose goes up, lights go down. The entire arena is plunged into darkness. As the darkness settles in over the Joe Louis Arena, the attending people begin to get restless and stir:crazy, the sounds of talking and a few screams can be heard which seems to be the usual for a blackout of some sort. As if out of nowhere, there are some noises from within the ring; one in particular is the sounds of flesh on flesh contact over and over, clearly not of any pleasant kind. After a while, there’s a sickening thud and a few people gasp from the sound of it, and to be fair to you the reader, it actually was pretty audible. Pain: What the hell was that? Sanction: I’d tell you, but I CAN’T SEE EITHER! Pain: Oh. Right… A few moments later, the lights flicker back on. Although there is a different appearance in the ring, the major difference from the lights being on and off is the unknown person slowly walking backwards up the ramp, his face painted a black:and:white mask of anger and hatred. Clearly he had been in some sort of tussle, because there are a few parts of the paint smeared to reveal the flesh underneath it. Pain: Who… What IS that? Sanction: I have no idea, J. Pain. I’ve never seen anything like this. Pain: Oh god… Look in the ring, Sanction! But within the ring, there lies the real change. Rose is sitting in a corner still aching from the submission attempt; Tommy Tickles is looking around seeming completely baffled; but as for the Snake of Salford Quays… His body tells the real story. From the once:dominant position he was in before the blackout, he is now laying unconscious on his back in the middle of the ring, spread eagle, with a gash on his forehead and blood oozing out slowly into his hair and down his face. Obviously, someone did a real number on the Legionnaire as the power outage occurred, and from the looks of the small flecks of paint on his fist, it wasn’t without a fight. Sanction: Blood streaming down the face of the Leader of the Legion! What the hell happened when we weren’t watching? Rose shields his eyes from the light, his eyes having adjusted to the darkness before, and he looks around for what, or who, had handed him this opportunity of a life time. Rose stands up with the assistance of the ropes and continues looking around before he spots the man with the face paint standing at the top of the ramp, watching the ring with his hands on his hips. Rose cocks his head to the side and squints his eyes, as if to recognize the man to no avail, but the reality of the situation sets in and a hideous smile creeps across Rose’s face. Pain: I don’t even think ROSE knows what is going on! Sanction: I don’t think it matters… Rose smells blood! Rose slowly turns around and finally looks at Jack Sabbath, a bloody crumpled pathetic heap compared to the calculating authoritative figure he usually is. Rose obviously knows this is not an opportunity one just passes up and backs from the ropes into the nearest corner and signals for Diamond to get up, waving his arm up and down a few times before he grips the ropes and raises his foot…and stomps it once. Twice. Thrice. Four:ice? It doesn’t matter, because Diamond Jack Sabbath has not even stirred yet. Sanction: That son of a bitch is setting up for the Breakdown, but how’s he gonna hit a downed target? Pain: I think we’ll find out soon enough! But I think it’s worth noting that “someone” was watching out for Rose here… Rose is a patient man, but come on… Even Buddha would get impatient waiting for Jack to get up. Rose quickly walks over to Jack and grabs his arm, tugging on it and trying to pull him up. Unfortunately, Rose is both shorter and smaller than Sabbath and barely manages to turn him onto his stomach. He then walks around him and pulls him to his knees, although Jack only manages to stay on his knees due to Rose’s effort. Rose: Come on, big boy, that’s the like. Get your big ass up! Rose transitions into a bear hug and lifts Diamond Jack Sabbath with all of his might, finally hoisting him to his feet, albeit very unsteadily. Quickly, Rose runs a decent distance from Jack, turns sideways and begins stomping a bit, and much to the chagrin of the people watching, he unleashes a sickening Breakdown directly onto the chin of Sabbath! [image]http://www.gifsoup.com/view/482767/breakdown:o.gif[/image] Pain: Another Breakdown… Sanction: This makes me ill, Pain. How long is he going to shove it in our faces that he beat the legendary DGX?! Sabbath immediately falls the short distance to the mat after the strike and Rose quickly pounces on his prey, pulling his far arm underneath and hooking the far leg as referee Tommy Tickles drops down for the count and the man with the face paint looking on from the top of the ramp, a sickening smirk crawling over his face. ONE…… TWO…… THREE!!!! Rose gets off of Diamond and takes his belt back as referee Tommy Tickles reluctantly raises Roses hand in victory as Meet Your Master begins playing over the speakers. However, Rose is still very curious as to who that was on the entrance ramp. Rose takes his arm back from Tickles and walks over to the ropes closest to the entrance and looks back at the man standing there, and as he does, the man begins slowly clapping for Rose. Pain: Is that man clapping for him? Sanction: I believe he is. This is sick. That’s what this is… He claps for a little bit then turns and walks away from view and Rose, no matter how clever he truly is, cannot recognize the face that he saw. Was it DGX, returning to assist Rose in order to set up a rematch? Was it Chris Chaos, making a statement on his first night out from under the Legion steel curtain? It could be anyone, but in his mind, a win is a win is a win, and Rose throws his hands up in victory again, the belt still around his neck and a smirk on his face as the show fades to black.

Apologies for my tardiness and the fact that the first half isn't great. Well, Rose's performance in the first half is deliberate - all will be revealed But the second half was some good reads ;D Yeah, I messed up this week with time and all, but hopefully this'll count so some angles can be advanced and I don't have to edit the results. We'll have a real match soon, Jackie boy.
