[/u] Ladder Match
Hazard vs Danger Liam
Hazard’s hard-won XWA HardCore Title win last week seems to have seriously upset the Human Rubik’s Cube, Danger Liam. Crying foul and citing his rematch clause, he’s dared Jack Hazard to defend his new belt from atop a fifteen foot ladder...and the Human Highlight Reel has accepted. Will either man even survive the Australian tour??[/color]

'A Box Full Of Sharp Objects' rains over the arena as purple spotlights shine around the crowd. As they come to a rest they are pointed right at the top of the rampway as the Dangerous One strolls out onto the stage, alone. No Sarah, No Jen. No smug look on his face this time, he just storms down the ramp way. As Cubes gets to Ringside he is quick up the steps and into the ring. He climbs to the second rope and throws back his arms before spotting the 'Dangerously Lame' sign in the crowd and flipping off the fan holding it before shouting 'I'm Better Than You’ and dropping back down into the ring. He takes a look to outside the ring and decides to bring a ladder in and set it up ready.
The lights in the arena go out. For a few seconds, the crowd await in anticipation. The wait is over when the Xtremetron screen springs to life and fades into an image.
Hadouken's 'Lights Out (Spor Remix)' starts and a roar of cheers comes from the crowd. They know who they are about to see. The arena is still dark. The music booms over the roar of cheering fans. All that can be seen is the picture on the screen. The vocals kick in and several golden spotlights scan the crowd, searching for Hazard. 50 seconds into the music, the spotlights find their target, revealing Jack Hazard in the crowd. The spotlight disappears as the lights come back on with a yellow shade, and Jack surveys the crowd, nodding with approval. He sweeps with a point from one side of the crowd to the other, smacks the floor, and he and makes his way to the ring.
As Hazard walks through the crowd and towards the ring, Hazard interacts with the fans, slapping hands and hugging them. As Hazard reaches the barriers, he stops to take a deep breath before jumping over them and jumping to the Hazard enters the ring and makes his way to the opposite turnbuckle. Hazard looks into the crowd, nodding with approval. Hazard drops from the turnbuckle and stares down Liam, with a very confident smirk.
Keri: The challenger, from Coseley, England. He weighs in tonight at 226lbs. The Human Rubik’s Cube, Danger Liam! The crowd, apart from a select few, boo Liam like never before.
Keri: And your XWA Hardcore Champion. From Manchester, England. He weighs in tonight at 190lbs. He is the Human Highlight Reel! The Eastlands Kid, Jack Hazard!
The crowd go insane, they still love Hazard, despite his allegiance to Legion!
The two stare eachother down before looking up at the belt.
Ding Ding Ding!
As the bell rings, both men rush up to the top of the ladder, eager to retrieve the title. The trade-off begins with series of punches to each other. Left after right after left, they continue to trade blows. The crowd start to gasp as the ladder begins to rock from side to side. One more hard shot to the head of Liam from Hazard and the ladder goes over, tumbling to the right.
The ladder hits the ropes and Liam crashes to the floor, writhing in agony. Hazard once again displays those famous catlike reflexes by getting one foot on the rope and holding onto the ladder, balancing on the top rope. The ladder bounces up and down, forcing Hazard to fight for control and balance. As he sways on the top rope, he realises that he’s not getting back on the ladder. He eventually manages to get both feet on the ropes and takes one swift look at Liam, now struggling to his feet. He pushes the ladder away and takes two short steps forward on the top rope, turns so he is facing away from his opponent and leaps into the air with a huge, almost gravity-defying moonsault.
As soon as Liam is up, he is straight back down as Hazard slams down onto him. As they both fall quickly to the floor., Hazard catches his shins on the announcers table, the sound made from it echoing through the arena. The crowd react in shock.
Sanction: Oh my god! Hazard may have broken his legs there!
Pain: Good, he deserves it.
Sanction: *sigh*. Get over yourself will you. I just wonder, does this now make Liam the favourite? Hazard’s greatest strength, his speed, may have just been taken away from him! This may be more even than we thought.
A few referees turn up on the scene to check on the possibly injured Hazard. As he rolls off Liam, the referees sit him against the announcers table. They inspect his legs for a number of seconds and ask if he is okay and if he wants to continue.
Hazard replies instantly.
Hazard: I’m fine! I’ll do this. I’ll be...
Liam’s foot crashes down on Hazard’s shin. Hazard lets out an agonizing scream. Liam pushes the referees away and forces
Hazard to his feet, dragging him to a ring-post and rolling him into the ring, grabbing a hold of both legs as he rolls him in, locking in a familiar hold from the pair’s first match.
Sanction: Liam applying the modified figure four again, and this time the ref can’t put a stop to it.
Hazard flails his legs in an attempt to break free as Liam wrenches the hold further, applying more pressure. Hazard continues to frantically try to release his legs. There’s no way out... or is there?
Hazard breaks his right leg free, but he is unable to reach any limb of Liam’s that is applying the hold. In a desperate attempt to break free, Hazard kicks out at the only thing possible.
Sanction: Oh, that has to hurt!
A very desperate kick to where it hurts. Liam can’t help but release the hold.
Sanction: I’m not usually one to agree with low blows, but that was the only way out for Hazard.
Pain: He has to resort to dirty tactics, typical Hazard.
Sanction: Dirty tactics? Did you not see Liam’s hold? The one that would have been illegal if this was an ordinary match!
Pain: Hmmph.
Sanction: Thought so.
As Liam lies in pain, checking everything’s still there, Hazard slowly staggers to his feet. Still in agony from the crash to the announcers table, he drags himself to the ladder, setting it up and climbing the first step. He gradually climbs up the steps, the pain evident in his scrunched up face. Just as he reaches the top, and reaches for his beloved title, he is clubbed in the back by Cubes. Liam pulls Hazard down to the apron and positions him perfectly.
Pain: Yes! DanJa Vu time!
Pain is correct, and like a cyclone, Liam hits his signature impaler.
Sanction: This is as good as over. Maybe that shot to the legs on Hazard took too much out of him.
The crowd are disappointed, they too believe this is over. Before Liam climbs the ladder, he drops to his knees and whispers something in Hazard’s ear. Cubes taunts the crowd and then sluggishly climbs the ladder. Cubes doesn’t get far as he looks up to find Hazard flying over him. Hazard lands on the top step and quickly balances himself. He takes on swift glance back at Liam before jumping backwards, catching Cubes’ head between his legs and hitting a modified hurricanrana.
Sanction: Holy... that was insane. What the hell happened there. Replay, now!
As Liam climbs the ladder, Hazard angrily surges to his feet. Without making a sound he jumps off the top rope and springboards over Liam’s head landing on the ladder. With one sharp look at his opponent, he hits a devastating hurricanrana.
Sanction: Whatever Liam said to Hazard must have set something inside him off, he looks pissed!
And right Sanction is, no sooner does Liam hit the canvas does Hazard, now completely disregarding any sense of pain in his body, spring on top of him. He pounds into his face with a series of left and rights. Punch after punch after punch, Hazard lets rip into Liam. He starts mixing punches with elbows and backhanded slaps, then slithers outside of the ring and sprawls underneath it. He comes back out covering something in his hand and slides back into the ring.
Still covering whatever he took from under the ring up, he rushes back over to Liam and starts pounding the concealed object into Liam’s forehead. Nobody can see what the object is, but whatever it is, it’s tearing Liam’s head open. Shot after shot after shot, and eventually the blood starts to pour. Hazard pulls away, knowing he’s done enough, and reveals the object.
Pain: You’re kidding me.
Sanction: The Rubik’s Cube! He said that it could be of use! That’s some pretty clever work from Hazard there. Some, albeit sick, psychology going on.
Pain: It’s stupid. I hate him.
Soaked in blood, Liam escapes to outside of the ring. Hazard stumbles over the now fallen ladder in the ring, the pain in his legs returning. Hazard fights it off as best as he can as he positions the ladder underneath the belt. With Liam down outside the ring, Hazard climbs the ladder in serious pain, he slowly climbs up one step at a time, pausing every few to prepare for the next set.
He eventually reaches the top of the ladder, perched a couple of steps down to keep good balance. However, he can’t reach the belt. This ladder isn’t the highest of ladders. To get the belt, he’s going to have to stand without any aid. He sluggishly climbs those last two steps and grabs the belt, stood on the very top of the ladder. His legs start to give way and the whole ladder begins to sway around the ring. Hazard holds with everything he can possibly handle.
Sanction: That ladder’s not gonna stay up. Can he do it?!
The ladder falls, and Hazard is left dangling from the belt, still desperately trying to unhook it. He uses all his upper body strength to just keep himself hanging. The time he’s taken to get to this stage has allowed Liam to reach the apron. As Hazard dangles from the belt, Cube’s acts desperately, jumping up to the top rope and springboarding off, catching Hazard with a vicious mid-air spear.
The pair crash to the mat.
Silence.
Keri: Ladies and Gentlemen, the winner of this match...... The Eastland’s Kid, Jack Hazard!
Sanction: What?! Did he... Hazard’s holding the title! He took it down with him! Unbelievable!
A replay of the final moment, from above the belt, is shown.
Hazard, hanging from the belt, is speared by Liam. Just at the point of impact, Hazard unhooks the belt and crashes to the mat. The referee then calls for the bell
The crowd are going crazy, as is Sanction. Pain is not so pleased.
Sanction: That was incredible. What a shocking ending to a brutal matchup. I thought Hazard was done for!
Pain: He got lucky! Fuckin’ lucky!
Sanction: Yeah, maybe he did... but he won, and he deserves it for continuing after nearly breaking himself!
As Hazard lies near broken on the mat, clutching his title, Liam rages in the ring. He has the referee by the throat, hurling abuse at him. He throws the referee into the corner and turns his attention to the fallen victor...

After a night of ups, downs and backflips the XWA crowd brace themselves ready for tonight’s main event. As a suspenseful tone builds over the arena P.A system a collection of back stage help start bring out ladders to the ring side area, a few are placed around ringside all varying in size and finally one is placed at the bottom of the arena ramp way. With all the set up in place Keri Thames climbs into the ring to get tonight’s Main Event up and running.
Keri Thames: Ladies and gents the following contest is tonight’s MAIN EVENT and is for the XWA HardCore title and is to be decided in a LADDER MATCH! Introducing first the challenger ...
'A Box Full Of Sharp Objects' rains over the arena as purple spotlights shine around the crowd. As they come to a rest they are pointed right at the top of the rampway as the Dangerous One strolls out onto the stage followed closely by a very disinterested Sarah. With a smug look on his face he checks over the XWA crowd before starting down the ramp way (of course stopping to check out any totty in the front row, much to the disgust of his manager). As cubes gets to Ringside he is quick up the steps and into the ring while Sarah waits at ringside looking in at him. He climbs to the second rope and throws back his arms before spotting the 'The Human Weetabix Cube’ sign in the crowd and flipping off the fan holding it before shouting 'I'm Better Than You’ and dropping back down into the ring ready for action.
Keri Thames: Hailing from Coseley, England. He stands six feet two inches tall and weighs in at two-hundred and twenty-six pounds. He is the FORMER XWA HardCore Champion, ‘The Human Rubik’s Cube’ DANGER LIAAAMMM!!!
50 seconds into the music, the spotlights find their target, revealing Jack Hazard and Natasha Young in the crowd. The spotlight disappears as the lights come back on with a yellow shade, and Jack surveys the crowd, nodding with approval. He sweeps with a point from one side of the crowd to the other, smacks the floor, and he and Natasha make their way to the ring.
Keri Thames: And his opponent ...
As Hazard and Natasha walk through the crowd and towards the ring, Hazard interacts with the fans, slapping hands and hugging them.
Keri Thames: Hailing from Manchester, England. He stands five foot eight inches tall and weighs in at one-hundred and ninety pounds. He is the XWA HARDCORE CHAMPION! The Eastlands Kid JACK HAZARRRDDD!!!
The crowd roar at the mention of Hazard’s name. As Hazard and Natasha reach the barriers, Hazard stops to take a deep breath before jumping over them and jumping to the apron whilst Natasha walks up the steps onto the apron. Hazard enters the ring, holding the rope down like a true gentleman, for Natasha to enter. Hazard makes his way to the opposite turnbuckle. Hazard looks into the crowd, nodding with approval. Hazard jumps from the turnbuckle and kisses Natasha, who then leaves to the outside of the ring.
Mark Sanction: We’ve already heard what both of these men has to say here tonight so I guess it’s time to settle this.
J. Pain: Well obviously it’s time to settle this, Jesus Mark sometimes you say some really stupid shit.
Before the bell is called for Jen Anders calls both Sarah and Natasha onto the ring apron and asks both to leave the ringside area, Sarah leaves without much fuss or care while Natasha takes a moment to kick up a stink, demanding that it’s not fair she has to leave.
Mark Sanction: What the hell is the point in this? Liam already has his own ref in this match how can he demand that Natasha has to leave?
J. Pain: She’s a ref Mark, she’s there to do her job Natasha is just a dirty ring rat and she has no business out here. Sarah left didn’t she so let’s say goodbye to that skank too.
Mark Sanction: Skank? Is that more of that Eastend slang?
In the end Hazard makes his way over to Natasha and tells he she may as well leave ringside as this match is going to get beyond brutal. Still not really too happy Natasha follows her orders (like a good woman should) and heads into the back. With Hazard watching as she leaves the Dangerous One tries to sneak attack the champion, but luckily Jack catches Cubes just before he is able to attack. The Dangerous One starts to back up and he and Jack exchange words in the middle of the ring. Haz points up at his title hanging above the ring and as Cubes too looks up Jack plants a hand across his chops with a ear ringing slap.
J. Pain: Well that's just uncalled for the bell hasn't even sounded.
DING....DING
Mark Sanction: It has now.
Cubes turns back and storms at the champion taking him to the canvas with a double forearm smash, before dropping to his knees drilling shot after shot into the prone champion. Haz tries to fight of the Danger Mans attacks and manages to get to his feet only to be whipped across the ring.
Mark Sanction: It pin's me to say but Hazard is really starting this one on the back foot.
On the rebound Liam clocks Jack in the jaw with his sticker peal before quickly bring him again to his feet. Looking somewhat rattled Jack is easy to get into a front face lock and quicker than a hiccup Cubes snaps his hips slamming the champion in a snap suplex.
J. Pain: Wow, that's the way to do it champ!
Mark Sanction: He's not the champion.
J. Pain: We'll see!
Taking a sick pleasure in dealing out punishment Liam stands over Jack as he turns to his stomach shouting down at him and slapping him across the head. Eventually he pulls Hazard up again this time drilling him straight back to the canvas with his snap german suplex.
J. Pain: Another perfect suplex there.
Jack does his best to crawl to the corner of the ring, he gets to a knee before Liam picks him fully up and throwing a few chops. In between a few chops Hazard manages to throw out a kick catching Cubes in the gut before quickly switching up positions and slamming the challenger into the corner. Hazard throws a open hand slap of his own sending the chilling sound echoing through the arena as the crowd as one winch.
Mark Sanction: More like it Jack.
Jack attacks with first slaps and kicks for a while getting some semblance of revenge that takes the Purple Menace down to his knees and then eventually to his back. With Cubes trying to fight up from his back at the ropes Jack places his boot across the downed challengers throat using the ropes to apply ample pressure. Now in control, and with a handful of hair Jack drags Liam to his knees only to drive a well aimed fist into the Purple Warriors forehead. Cubes flops back towards the ropes, catching himself on the middle one and trying to force himself back to a vertical base. He gets a foot planted as Haz grabs him by the arm tossing him across the ring.
J. Pain: Come on LIAM! Get this Legion BITCH!
Foolishly however Jack tries to telegraph the whip and as he bends forward the Dangerous One throws up a clattering shot to the chest. Liam then bounces off the ropes himself looking to claw his way back into the ring but it turn out the kick wasn't enough to stun the champion as Hazard sides steps his charging challenger tossing him up and over the top rope.
Mark Sanction: And out to the floor.
J. Pain: Not so fast Mark.
However as the Eastlands Kid turns his attention back to Liam, the Danger Man has landed on the apron. Jack tries to attack only to get a stiff shoulder block to his gut. Cubes is then quick to follow that but lifting the HC Champ up and over the top rope and out to the arena floor. Liam gets back into the ring shouting at the crowd for a moment before sliding out and heading towards the ladder at the bottom of the ramp. Still a little dazed Jack watches on as Cubs closes up the ladder and starts to make his was up the ring steps. Just before entering the ring however he looks down at Hazard and decides to inflict more punishment. He lifts the ladders over his head and tosses them down at Jack who manages to avoid impact at the absolute LAST moment.
Mark Sanction: There is no reason for that, he's trying to decapitate him here.
J. Pain: The reason is to WIN!
Hazard scurries to get away from the Purple Menace making his way around the ring and manages to catch his challenger with a leaping smash as Cubes turns the corner around the ring. Straight away Haz slams Liams head into the ring apron then pushes the Purple Warrior back into the ring. Haz slides in and presses Cubes throat across the second rope before climbing up onto his back and wrenching in the tension as he pulls back on the top rope. Jen has a word with the champion but Jack is quick to point out that there is nothing she can do.
J. Pain: Come on Jen do your Job!
Mark Sanction: She is.
Jack climbs down from the back of the Danger Man and seemingly laughs to himself he goes once more for a whip across the ring but this time the Dangerous One manages to hook his arms on the top rope. Just as he does Liam shout something (that I'm pretty sure is 'Oasis SUCK BALLS'. Haz storms in clearly pissed but this rage gets the better of him as Cubes drops him with a drop kick to the knee.
J. Pain: That's a nice impact there from our soon to be HardCore champion.
Mark Sanction: You need to do something about this bias attitude.
J. Pain: Like your not Bias?
Liam pulls Jack to the ropes placing his ankle across the bottom rope before leaping into the air and driving all his weight down across the knee joint of the HardCore champion not once nor even twice but three bone crunching times. With Jack clutching at his leg and holding back the screams Liam again slides out from the ring and grabs hold of a ladder from ringside. It takes him a while and by the time he has it on the ring apron Jack is back to his feet.
Mark Sanction: Bit of a stale mate here Pain
Both men lock eyes for a moment before Jack runs at the ropes and slides for a baseball slide, Liam just manages to pull the Ladder out of the way and as the Eastlands Champion lands on the outside he is met with a gut busting shot from the ladder. Jack drops back only able to prop himself up with the ring post and as Cubes sees this he simply chuckles to himself before charing with the ladder like a battering ram. Luckily (for his health) Jack slips from the impact which ends up juddering through every inch of the Dangerous One.
Mark Sanction: Each attempt from Liam just gets more and more deranged.
Straight on the attack the Champion hits Liam with a clothesline that is enough to send him over the ring barricade and into the crowd. Jack then follows him over as the two men begin to fight up the steps of the arena. Hazard is clearly in control as he slams Liam from step to railing and even into the odd fan. Cubes eventually falls to his back and the Eastlands Kid takes every moment he can as he hits time time after time after time in the head.
Mark Sanction: There out there making those seats more than worth the money.
With Liam laid out Jack heads back towards the ring, but the Purple Menace is on alert. He isn't within arms reach but he keeps a decent tail on the champion and manages to catch him just as he climbs onto the ring apron. With a tight hold on his ankle Liam pulls Jack back down to the arena floor then lifts him high flap jacking him face first into the announce table. Jack shakes the cobwebs free but in doing so gives Cubes time to grab hold of a camera wire and wrap it around the throat of the champion.
J. Pain: Thats it Liam choke him out then you have a easy climb for the gold.
Before he goes blue Liam releases the wire and looks to call this match to an end. He tosses the champion towards the ringsteps however only to be reversed, still not wanting to lose however the Dangerous One leaps onto the ring steps and leaps back towards Hazard only to catch a boot to the gut. Then right there on the outside of the ring with the Dangerous One rocked Jack plants him into the ground with the Hazacarana which brings the crowd out of their seats.
Mark Sanction: Ouch!
It takes Jack a while but he snaps himself back into life before turning his attention to a ladder. He slides the ladder into the ring (took long enough) and sets it up dead centre under the gold. He starts on his way up the ladder looking up all the way as he climbs. He positions himself on the last but two rung before reaching up over his head getting his fingertip to the belt. The fingertips aren't enough however as Jack has to take another step up to the next rung but just as he is about to rip down the gold the camera judders back to see the Dangerous One has a grip on his legs.
J. Pain: Just not close enough ey Sanction?
Cubes pulls Jack down a few rungs only to get one or two stiff shots in the head for his troubles. Liam topples down to the canvas but Jack doesn't go for the gold again. Instead he drops to the canvas and takes hold of Cubes bouncing the challenger off the ladder and sending him and it to the mat. Haz kicks the strut closing the ladder and picks it up as Cubes is sat in the corner of the ring.
Mark Sanction: Looks Hazard is brning out the hardware now.
Jack takes the ladder placing so that the end is sticking out from over the top rope back into the ring. He makes sure its steady before heading over to Cubes who has started to crawl back into the middle of the ring. Jack checks over his shoulder a few times making sure the ladder is ready but as he whips the Danger Man Cubes slams it into reverse and sends Jack face first into the ladder he set up.
J. Pain: Ohhhh that's gonna smart in the morning.
Somehow Jack isn't completely motionless but he is slow to his feet, the Danger Man pulls the ladder down from atop the ropes and clatters it down across the spine of the champion. Liam has to take a moment to catch his breath but still has time to set up the ladder again. By the time he is done however Jack is up and the two men are again locked in a trade off of rights and lefts. Cubes comes out almost on top until Jack drops to his knees and with a handful of tights pulls Liam head first into the ladder.
J. Pain: Grabbing tights, is that really what this has to come to?
Jack picks up the ladder again closing it up and this time putting it resting on the second ropes in the corner of the ring. He drags the Purple Menace to the corner kicking and clawing but in the end manages to get him to his back and lift his legs for a catapult. Liam continues to wriggle trying desperately for freedom but it is of no use as Jack snaps back slamming his challenger skull first into the prone ladder.
Mark Sanction: The action in this match really isn't letting up.
The Eastlands Kid quickly pulls the ladder from the ropes and sets it up once more. He starts up the ladder clearly feeling the pain from this match. Before he can get to the tope the Dangerous One gets hold of the leg and rattles the ladder. Before he falls Haz drops to the mat and hits one solid well placed kick to the temple of his challenger. The Danger Man is rocked into the corner where Hazard decides to wedge him between the turnbuckles and the ladder.
Mark Sanction: This probably won't end well for your new favorite?
Jack then runs at the Dangerous One only to be met by the ladder as it flies out of the corner stopping him dead in his tracks. Neither man is really a live with the sound of music but Liam has enough energy to again grab hold of the ladder however instead of setting up the ladder ...
... He just drops it across the leg of the champion.
J. Pain: What a wicked move.
Cubes pops the ladder in the corner of the ring still not looking to draw this match to a close but as he tries to pull the champion to his feet he receives a cheep thumb to the eye (DJS's training clearly paying of for the Legionnaire). Somehow in the blink of an eye Haz is not only back to his feet but leaping through the air as he catches the Dangerous One with his Pele Kick, but before Cubes can crumble to the canvas Haz again takes hold of him and hooking him into a side russian leg sweep that sends the challenger sickeningly into the ladder.
J. Pain: Seriously?
Haz then bounces Liams head off the ladder a few more times (for good measure) before storming across the ring hitting some what of a ho-train that sandwiches Cubes between himself and the ladder. Like melting wax Liam flops to the canvas as the Eastlands Kid drags himself to his feet and grabs the ladder looking to finally regain his gold. He opens the ladder and sets it up under the gold before starting a slow climb.
J. Pain: That's it come on Liam let's end this!
Just before pulling down the gold Haz looks down at Liam who has just about managed to pull himself to his knee using the ropes. But instead of pulling down the gold Haz sees that Cubes is flipping him the bird while running his mouth about Natasha. Jack shakes his head in disgust before dropping to the canvas. He closes the ladder back up and charges at his challenger but out of nowhere Liam leaps onto the second turnbuckle and plants a sexy missile dropkick into the ladder knocking all the wind from Jacks system.
Mark Sanction: Even I gotta give that to Liam what must have too all his efforts.
J. Pain: You should have been giving him credit since the get go.
Both men lay motionless as the XWA crowd stay stunned in silence until Liam finally gets to his feet. Liam looks down at the carnage but for some reason still doesn't feel he has inflicted enough damage as he pulls Jack up and locks his arm around his throat. With a sickening thud Cubes spins his arms slamming Jack spine first into the ladder on the canvas with his locked spinning lariat.
J. Pain: That's it! It's over climb the ladder Liam get it over with.
Looking like a man possessed Cubes opens the ladder on the canvas and drags the carcass of Jack Hazard in between it's two sides. Like a crazy man on a whack-a-mole The Dangerous One slams the top side of the ladder time after time after time after time making sure that Jack can't get free. The Purple Wonder follows that up shouting something at Jack that sounds like 'This is how you hurt with a ladder' before making his way to the top rope.
Mark Sanction: What happened to not being Jeff Hardy?
J. Pain: Sometimes the rewards out weigh the risk.
Cubes leaps the air spinning and flipping for the Rubik's 360 only to land on a ladder that no longer contains the champion. Liam screams in pain as he clutches at his leg but wanting to get back his gold the Danger Man refuses to say down. He get to his feet heavily favoring the knee that just rattled the ladder but as he turns to Jack he is met by the business end of a ladder as Haz near takes his head off running in.
Mark Sanction: You call that a reward?
Liam falls out of the ring but Jack has to take his time fighting through the pain to set the ladder up again in the middle of the ring. Jack slithers up the ladder but by the time he is within the reach of the gold Cubes again has hold of his foot. Liam climbs a few rungs but gets a few shots for his troubles. Jack climbs the last few rungs of the ladder and gets a hold of the gold but Cubes sways from side to side toppling the ladder and leaving Jack hanging from the belt high above the ring.
Mark Sanction: Hazards gonna retain Pain how do you like that?
J. Pain: This ain't over!
Hazard still tries to pull down his belt but can't manage to unpop the strap. Cubes gets back up and looks up to see Jack flailing in the sky. The Dangerous One watches him for a moment before worrying that he may succeed in winning so he grabs the ladder again and tosses it at Hazard sending him crashing to the mat.
J. Pain: Told 'ya.
With Jack sprawled out in the middle of the ring the Purple Wonder again grabs the ladder but this time sets it up over the chest of the Eastlands Kid trapping him under the bottom rung of the ladder. Still feeling the pain in his leg and with the title swaying above his head Liam starts to climb. Hazard lets him get to near the top of the ladder before sliding from under the bottom run and with all his might lifting the ladder tipping the Danger Man out crashing into the top rope and out to the arena floor.
Mark Sanction: This must be it come on Jack.
The XWA cameras show the carnage as both men lay in every kind of pain. Still in the ring though Jack Hazard has the advantage as he again pulls up the ladder, he gets it to a vertical base and starts to climbs before seeing Liam still hasn't given up. Hazard turns around on the ladder looking down at Cubes and trying to keep him at back with a few kicks but relentlessly Liam continues to climb the ladder to a point that he is only a run below Hazard. Cubes slams a few right hands into the jaw of Jack who flops back across the ladder Liam however grabs Jack by the ankles and as he falls back wraps his legs around the ladder locking in a modified boston crab high atop the ladder.
Mark Sanction: Oh shit he's gonna break him in half!
J. Pain: Damn straight. This is over! That's it Jack SCREAM
Jack screams in pain atop the ladder as Cubes holds him for more than long enough for this sick hold to do real damage. As Liam finally releases the pressure he keeps hold of one of the Eastland Kids feet pulling it between the rungs of the ladder and leaving Hazard hanging upside down in a tree-of-woe on the ladder.
J. Pain: IT'S OVER!
Hazard is left helpless as he has no choice but to watch as Cubes climbs the last two rungs and reaches up finally getting his hands on the HardCore title and ripping it down from his holder.
Mark Sanction: No ... not like that Haz had no way of defending himself.
'A Box Full Of Sharp Objects' booms over the XWA crowd but instead of celebrating this victory Cubes climbs fully to the top of the ladder, he drops the gold down to the canvas as he looks down at Hazard. The Dangerous One shouts down at the now former XWA HardCore Champion taking a moment to think before leaping into a backflip and hitting a SICK Possimpible.
Mark Sanction: Oh my God that was wrong!
The XWA crowd look on stunned in silence as neither man moves in the ring and this episode of XWA Massacre raws to a close.

After reviewing both matches, my vote is hereby handed to Danger Liam.
Hazard, you're match was lacking, to be perfectly honest. Once I'd taken a read through it, I felt like it had to have been a rush job. Whether or not this is true however, I obviously do not know. The match lacked some of the natural flow you usually include in your works.
Liam, your match was fantastic, especially the closing moments. It's exactly the sort of event this feud needed to take it a step further, and I can't wait to see what is to come in the coming weeks.
All in all, both competitors did well, but Liam gets my nod today.

Without giving too much away, or influencing any decision on the votes... there's reasoning (both in character and IRL) behind the style & structure of my match this week.
Haz, there were any great number of things that were kind of irking about your match. I mean, I know in real life it's not unheard of, but Face Hazard in a Heel Legion, it just annoys me. I mean you could make your argument about past Faces in Heel stables but inevitably it just doesn't work out. Maybe your angle is eventually leading to that but just as it stands now it totally messes things up for me, Pain's supposed to love the Legion but he hates hard on Haz. Conversely Sanction is supposed to condemn the Legion and he's Haz's cheerleader, it's little nuances like that that make it hard for me to get into your match. Next was your establishing of your own handicap (your legs being hurt) and then your total disregard of it in the final hour. In your favor you had a terrific spot to the end the match that actually did take my breath away seeing it in my mind's eye but it wasn't enough to save it for you.
Liam, fantastic match. You woulda benefitted from a proof read or two as you had some spelling errors in the form of correctly spelled words that didn't fit in the sentence such as "It pins me to say this" when it was probably intended as "It pains me to say this" but overall I found your match to be the one with the more substance of the two.
You're both really coming along in strides, keep up the good work.

Urrrg ... that is always my downfall ... i swear i must be dyslexic 'olo'(See what I did there?). But seriously for some reason it has always been the thing that I am no good at I check it over and still miss things. I might start using textedit to read back to me everything I write.

I'm not voting this week but I saw D write these two little bits and I just wanted to add a little.
Firstly, that is exactly what irks me about Hazard, too. I don't think, in THIS group, you can have it both ways. They're a group of dastardly, conniving, sick bastards. You cannot do what they do and be a good guy. Trying to be a face is only hurting you here. I know your logic is that the fans find it hard to hate you, but I don't think you can pull that, having not been around years and years as just a face. It detracts a little.
However, in defence of D's second point, about Pain, he's supposed to hate the Legion. He's Rose's boy, and Rose hates the Legion. Good continuity there.
I'll just clarify that I'm not voting this week because I've not been around and don't think I can judge the matches based on their context even if I had time to read them all.
Haz, your matches week by week have been getting more awesome, this week was a step back though. You said there was a reason for it, but I can only vote on what has been put up today. D was right about the spot though.
Liam, congrats mate. It was a good read through, solid the whole way. I have a habit of putting the wrong words into sentences as well, don't get upset about it. It happens.
