This is an item currently under discussion in the backstage forums, but I decided I want to know what you guys think about it.
What if we were to modify the current setup we have for wrestler contracts with "stat" rankings? Basically, something like this:
Personality:
Agility:
Strength:
Speed:
Durability:
Technical Skill:
(Arranged this way to end up with a semi-pronouncable acronymn, a wrestler's PASSDT numbers)
...or something like that, and give every one of those stats a rank? We'd give each wrestler 40 pts to divide between the abilities. Each to be recieving a score from one to ten? Whatever you set up becomes locked after creation and any modifications to the stats would then have to be done by Mods after that.
How would this affect matchwriting and who wins or loses? In reality, it wouldn't. It wouldn't be a number crunching game, but rather, a specific way for players to "Scout" out their competition beyond solely reading their matches, and players would have a more specific idea of, say, just HOW strong Gibraltar is, or how fast Hazard is, or how they each stood up against each other in a given area.
The Stat breakdown would be something like this -
1 - physically handicapped.
2 - childlike
3 - preteen development
4 - couch potato
5 - average person
6 - natural ability
7 - amateur level
8 - professional level
9 - olympic level
10 - SuperStar
(Or whatever classification names we come up with...)
Oh, and winning a title belt would gain you one point to put where you like. (Only belts won in THIS era of the XWA would count, not earlier ones.) Its likely that posting a certain number of promos or matches would earn more points too. It hasn't been decided yet.
Again, this is JUST an idea...but I think it could be cool. What do YOU guys think?
..................
An example:
Generic Guy
Starting with, say, 40 pts.
Personality: 6
Agility: 6
Strength: 7
Speed: 5
Durability: 8
Technical Skill: 8
So...thoughts? Good? Bad? Somewhere in between?
